Cold Cuts

Can you have cold cuts for every meal and not get bored?

The answer is YES!

While the current lockdown situation has eased up a little, things are still a bit tricky. A lot of us who used to depend on our cooks and restaurants for our meals, are spending more time in the kitchen. But we are also working from home, meaning we don’t exactly have the luxury of time to make elaborate meals. It’s a tricky situation, to say the least. Not to worry, we have a few ideas.

And the first one, is to stock up on cold cuts.

Cold cuts are amazing. They’re delicious packs of flavour in small, convenient packages. The perfect answer for when you’re craving something delicious and you’re in a big hurry. Or for days when you just need to get in and out of the kitchen quick. They’re so versatile that you can literally use them for any meal – not just breakfast.

At Licious, all our cold cuts are made from fresh, high-grade meats with gourmet recipes from our chefs. Keep reading and we’ll show you how we used our cold cuts in different ways to prepare 8 whole meals. Meaning, 2 whole days worth of meals hero-ing around our delicious cold cuts.

COLD CUTS FOR BREAKFAST

Breakfast 1: Eggs and sausages

Tad obvious, sure. But who can argue with eggs and sausages? They’re classic for a reason. They just work together. Our Classic Eggs and Smoked Chicken Frankfurter are a match made in heaven. If you have the time and can get your hands on them, add on some mushrooms sauteed in butter and garlic, roasted tomatoes, and hash browns, and you’ll have a delicious brunch-worthy meal.

Breakfast 2: Bagel Sandwich

Slather a bagel with cream cheese, and layer on all your favourite fill-ins. Lettuce, tomatoes, onion rings, our Peppery Chicken Salami lightly fried, pickled jalapenos, mustard. Anything else your heart desires. This makes for a delicious, wholesome sandwich that will give you a burst of energy and satisfaction first thing in the morning.

COLD CUTS FOR LUNCH

Lunch 1: Quinoa Hot Dog Bowl

You read right. This one’s healthy! Cook Quinoa like you usually would and add it to a bowl. Chop our Classic Chicken Nuremberger into thick discs, grill it, and add it to the bowl. Top with your favourite vegetable and a dollop of greek yogurt. A protein-packed meal, this bowl will leave you happily satiated.

Lunch 2: Lyoner Sandwich

A hearty sandwich is a great lunch option. It’s filling, quick to put together, and delicious. Start with a good multigrain bread and your favourite spread. Add layers of lettuce, our Chicken Lyoner, tomatoes, and cheese. Cucumber and pickles will work great, too! A juice or a whole fruit to go with it, and you have yourself a delicious, wholesome lunch.

COLD CUTS FOR SNACKS

Snack 1: Cold Cuts Cheese Platter

You thought we’d say hot dogs, didn’t you? While we love hot dogs, we thought we’d challenge ourselves a little bit here. Putting together this cheese platter isn’t just really simple, it looks uber fancy! Lightly roast our Peppery Chicken Salami and serve it up along with an assortment of crackers, cheese, honey, and fruits. That’s it, really.

Snack 2: Salami Bruschetta

Toasted bread, cream cheese, lettuce, onion rings, tomatoes, and our Smoked Chicken Salami make a delicious Bruschetta. Top them off with chilli flakes for an extra hit of heat, and you’ll impress everyone at home with your snack-making skills. We especially love these on days we’re feeling frustrated that we can’t go out.

COLD CUTS FOR DINNER

Dinner 1: Bangers and Mash

There’s something really comforting about the combination of our Smoked Chicken Frankfurters, lightly grilled, and warm, creamy, mashed potatoes. We also love adding caramelized onions and sauteed peas to the mix. Serve on a rainy night along with some gravy if you can be bothered. But these taste great just as is.

Meal 2: Mac N Cheese (N Sausages)

If Mac n cheese isn’t in your comfort food dinner rotation, you’re missing out. It’s one of the easiest things to cook, and everyone loves it. Don’t overthink this one. Make mac n cheese. Chop our Chicken Breakfast Sausage with Chives into discs and pan-fry them till golden brown. Toss them into your mac n cheese. Enjoy.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our takes on cold cuts. They truly are versatile and a great idea to add to your menu now when you need to make quick and easy meals.
