Chicken Salna Recipe
The chicken salna can be cooked within an hour and does not need a lot of preparation. The steps are easy to follow as well.

Ingredients

  1. Take a wok and heat the oil in it. Add the fennel seeds, peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves. Fry them well.
  2. Now, add coconut and let it turn slightly brown. Do this for 5-8 minutes.
  3. Once done, set it aside.
  4. Transfer these to a mixture grinder once cooled and grind them to a smooth paste. Add a little water if required.
  5. Now take the same wok and add oil.
  6. Add the chicken pieces with turmeric and salt. Saute it well.
  7. When they turn golden brown, drain the oil from the chicken and take them out.
  8. Now, add curry leaves to the wok and let it crackle.
  9. Add the ginger and garlic. Let it saute.
  10. Add the onions and cook them well until they are golden brown.
  11. Add the tomatoes and cook till they turn soft.
  12. Now, you can add the ground paste to the mixture.
  13. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder. Stir well to mix it.
  14. Add the chicken pieces to the gravy and ½ cup of water
  15. Add salt to taste and let it simmer on low flame for 20-25 minutes.
  16. Take it off the heat and serve it hot!

  • Garnish with coriander leaves
  • Use onion rings on the side
  • Serve with rice or paratha
