Instructions
  1. Marinate your chicken with curd, pepper powder, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste, and mustard oil. Let it marinate in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
  2. When it is marinated enough, take a wok and heat oil in it. When it is heated, add the whole spices to it. Cook them well till they become aromatic.
  3. Now, add the onions and sauté well.
  4. Add the coriander and cumin powder to the mixture.
  5. Bring the heat to low and add the curd. Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes.
  6. After this, add the watermelon seed or cashew paste to the mixture.
  7. When the oil separates, add the chicken pieces.
  8. Cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  9. Add water and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Once it is cooked, add garam masala and more salt if required.
  11. Simmer for a minute.
  12. Serve hot!

Tips and Tricks

Do not add curd on high flame as it may result in curdling. Make sure the spices do not stick to the wok. Do not add excessive water.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with rice or roti.
Add onion rings on the side.
