  1. Add chana dal, saunf, green chillies, and cumin seeds in a large bowl.
  2. Add 1/3 cup of water to a bowl and soak the dal for 45 minutes.
  3. After 45 minutes, drain and grind the daal into a thick paste. Take the minced meat and grind it as well to convert it into a thick paste. Add two tablespoons of gram flour, 1 1/2 pinch of asafoetida, and 1/6 teaspoon of garam masala powder in a bowl.
  4. In another bowl, add some curry leaves, 1 1/2 tablespoon onion, coriander leaves, 1/3 tablespoon ginger paste and salt as per taste.
  5. Mix all of these to form small balls. Flatten these balls and turn them into the shape of the vadai.
  6. Heat the oil on a medium flame. Fry the mutton vadai until it turns golden brown. Drain excess oil and serve hot with red or green chutney.
