  2. Grind the soaked and cooked rice along with the grated coconut.
  3. Boil water in a pan, add yeast, sugar, and salt, and boil for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the water to the mixture and mix well. Ferment the mixture for 8 hours.
  5. Take a non-stick pan, spread the mixture in a thick round shape, and cook on both sides until they are light brown

  7. In a pressure cooker, heat coconut oil. Add cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon, and stir.
  8. Add garlic, ginger, onions, potatoes, carrots, and green chillies. Keep stirring.
  9. Add the chicken pieces, followed by bay leaves and ½ cup water. Give them a good stir and close the lid. Cook for 2 whistles.
  10. Pour the contents into a deep pan. Add salt, pepper, and coriander leaves, and stir.
  11. As they come to a boil, add coconut milk. Stir again and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  12. Serve hot with the appam.
