  1. Add the chicken, 1 tsp pepper, lemon juice and salt to a bowl to marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Take a pan and add 1 tbsp oil. Once heated, add onions and fry till they are translucent
  3. Add ginger and garlic and fry them too.
  4. Once cooked, allow the mixture to cool down and add them to a mixer grinder with the soaked cashew nuts to get a smooth paste.
  5. Heat another pan with 2 tbsp oil. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 3 minutes on high heat then set aside.
  6. Add 2 tbsp oil to the same pan. Once heated, add the cardamom pods, cloves and cinnamon and saute for a few seconds
  7. Add the cashew paste and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
  8. Add the chicken and fry for another 3 minutes and reduce the heat.
  9. Add yoghurt, cream, salt and garam masala and keep stirring till the oil separates.
  10. Pour in ¾ cup of water along with green chillies and Kasuri methi and cook on low for 15 minutes or till the chicken is cooked.
  11. Garnish with a pinch of black pepper and coriander
  12. Serve hot with butter naan, kulcha or tawa roti
