Fish Chop Recipe | Bengali Style
Ingredients
- 250 g of Licious Sea Bass Fillet
- vegetable oil
- 1 Large onion finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic finely chopped
- 2 green chillies finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp dried mango powder Aamchur
- 1 tsp Sugar
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Eggs
- Salt as per taste
- Pepper as per taste
Instructions
- In a microwave bowl, coat the fillets with vegetable oil and microwave the fish for 5 minutes. Set aside
- In a pan, heat 1 tbsp mustard oil and add onions. Fry till they turn golden brown
- Add garlic and ginger and saute for about 3 minutes
- Add the cumin, coriander, red chilli, Kashmiri red chilli, and turmeric powders along with salt and sugar. Cook the ingredients well
- Add the fish, dried mango powder, green chillies, and garam masala and mix properly. Turn off the gas and allow it to cool. Mash once cool with hands (if required)
- Divide the filling into portions in the shape of a log
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to fry
- In another bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper.
- Beat the eggs mixed with salt and pepper in another bowl
- Coat the logs with seasoned flour, followed by eggs, and lastly, the breadcrumb
- Dip each log carefully into the hot oil and deep-fry till brown
- Serve hot with sauce and salad
