How About Haleem In 8 Minutes? Sounds Impossible, But Not With Licious!

When you hear about a classic slow-cooked porridge made of broken wheat and several types of lentils enriched with meat and the finest spices, what comes to mind? Yes, you are right! It’s haleem, the distinctive delicacy of the holy month of Ramadan. Haleem, which is traditionally cooked solely during Ramzan (though it is accessible all year in some parts of the country), is recommended to break the day’s fast since it is highly filling, high in protein, and easy to digest.

While dispute rages over whether it initially appeared in the 7th or 10th centuries, it was first referenced in India in the 16th century, according to the Ain-i-Akbari. It is an Arabian delicacy that is supposed to have arrived in India via Afghanistan and Iran during the Mughal Empire. During the holy month of Ramadan, haleem is usually cooked in ‘Bhattis,’ or brick-and-mud burners. It is a slow-cooked speciality traditionally cooked for 7-8 hours over fires.

But what if we say that you can enjoy the traditional taste of chicken haleem in just a matter of minutes at home? Yes, you heard it right. Order our ready-to-cook, freshly marinated chicken haleem which is chef-crafted using an authentic gourmet recipe and can be ready in 8 minutes!

How to Make Chicken Haleem at Home?

During Ramadan, Haleem is linked with Itftar since it is an energy booster that also keeps you stay full for a long time. Chicken haleem ingredients include wheat, barley, lentils, and meat, making the dish delicious and nutritious.

According to chefs, the significant preparation that goes into producing the delicacy begins early in the morning. Following meat cooking with chillies, ginger, and garlic, wheat is added, accompanied by lentils. Moreover, spices such as cardamom, cashew nuts, cumin, almonds, and desi ghee, enhance the flavour of the chicken haleem. Seems like a lot of work, right?
