- 1 kg tiger prawns
- 12 dried red chillies
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 small piece of ginger
- 3 cups white vinegar
- Salt - to taste
- 4 teaspoons Cumin seeds
- 15-20 garlic cloves
- Mix salt and turmeric powder in a bowl and rub into the prawn. Once mixed, set it aside for one hour.
- Grind red chilli, cumin seeds, garlic, ginger and a little vinegar and make a thick, smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan at medium heat and stir-fry prawns till they turn golden brown. Drain the prawns and let them sit for some time.
- Fry the paste in 2 tablespoons of oil till the oil and paste separately. Add the remaining vinegar and salt, and cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Once cooked and cooled properly, pour the cooled spices on the fried prawns. Mix well and serve with curries, rice, and other dishes.
