It is one of Asia’s most popularly consumed chicken dishes. As a result, it has evolved as a significant delight for every meat eater who loves to indulge in spicy food. During the 90s, it was a much more popular cuisine in countries like India and Japan.
However, its popularity slowed with time because of the introduction of other delicacies. But times are changing. More and more people have again started to order this mouth-watering dish.

Initially, Kung Pao evolved as a side dish. With time, it has transformed into a fully-fledged dish in its own right.
It is considered one of the most delicious and ideal dishes for family gatherings and parties. The tantalising blend of spices in this dish adds to its overall goodness.

Did you know that preparing kung pao chicken does not take too long?
Yes, it is extremely easy and convenient to cook it. All you have to do is follow our recipe till the end to get a restaurant like kung pao chicken at home.
For the marination, take a clean bowl and add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp rice wine, 2 tbsp cornstarch, and water. Mix them all.
Add the boneless chicken cubes to this mixture and coat the chicken cubes well. Keep the marinated chicken cubes aside for 30 minutes.
To prepare the sauce, add 1 tbsp rice wine, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1 tbsp soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and red chilli paste in a small bowl. Mix well and set it aside.
Add 2 tbsp of sesame oil (or any other cooking oil) to a pan and heat it. Then, add the marinated chicken and stir fry until it is just cooked and turns white. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
Now, add the chopped garlic, peanuts, spring onions, and water chestnuts to the same pan and saute them. Then add the sauce prepared earlier and mix well. Add water and adjust the consistency as per your preference.
Once the aroma of the sauce fills your kitchen, toss the stir-fried chicken pieces into it and mix them well till the chicken soaks in all the flavours.
And that is it! Your kung pao chicken is ready. Serve hot with rice for the best experience.
