  1. Take a pan and heat oil in it. Then add cumin seeds, coriander seeds and bay leaf. Once they start spluttering, add the chopped onions and sauté on high heat until they turn light brown. Then add ginger, garlic, and sauté the mixture. Add the tomatoes and cook them until the oil starts separating.
  2. Add the powdered spices such as garam masala, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Mix the spices well.
  3. Let the flame be high and add the chicken pieces to the pan. Toss them gently until they are coated in the onion-tomato mixture.
  4. Add water to the pan. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat. Cover the pan with a lid and let the chicken slow-cook until it is soft and tender.
  5. Let it stand for a few minutes after you take it off the stove. Sprinkle some fresh kasoori methi over it. Garnish it with fresh cream and coriander leaves and serve hot.
