Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, add the chicken along with turmeric and half the salt to marinate.

  2. Boil a cup of water and soak the dried red chillies and Kashmiri red chillies for about 20 minutes.
  3. Grind the chillies along with the ginger and garlic.
  4. Take a deep pan and heat mustard oil.
  5. Add the chilli, garlic and ginger paste and saute for 3 minutes or till the raw smell fades.
  6. Add the bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and onions. Mix the ingredients in the pan well.
  7. Add sugar and keep stirring for about 10 minutes.
  8. Add the potatoes, salt and yoghurt and cook till the potatoes are more than half cooked but not thoroughly cooked.
  9. Add the chicken and stir everything properly.

  10. Once the chicken is well roasted, add water and bring it to a boil.
  11. Cook for 20 minutes or till the chicken is cooked.
