Instructions
  1. Take a pan and add 1 tbsp mustard oil. Once hot, add half the onions and fry over medium heat for 2 minutes
  2. Add the whole garlic cloves and fry till the onions are dark brown. Remove from the pan and set aside to cool
  3. Add the chicken pieces along with the fried onion-garlic, mirch powder, garam masala powder, and lemon juice. Marinate for 1-2 hours.
  4. In the same frying pan, add 5 tbsp mustard and fry the potatoes till they are golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
  5. Add the bay leaf, dry red chilli and cardamom and stir for a few seconds
  6. Add the remaining onions and fry till they are light brown in colour.
  7. Then add the ginger-garlic paste; coriander, cumin and turmeric powders and tomatoes. Mix them well till the tomatoes are cooked
  8. Add the chicken along with green chillies and stir well. Cover to cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
  9. Add salt, pepper, potatoes and sugar. Stir well and cover till the chicken is done.
  10. Serve hot!
